Please don't judge my desktop, it's an inexpensive home built desk that is yet to be installed. The trick I use was 1. Install the clamp first 2. Install the swivel arm second.3. Mount the plate on the back of the monitor (note the depth of the vesa holes, I had to use washers on my ultrawide monitor.) 4. You can either connect the monitor to the spring arm or mount the spring arm to the rotating arm. what is convenient for you.5. Adjust the spring - after installing the spring, I had to adjust it with a large allen wrench. It had a lot of tension so I'm getting used to a point where I can't move but will stay in place in a reasonable amount of time. The kit includes Vesa mounting screws and standoffs for the back of the monitor. As you can see I have a 29 ultrawide monitor and it holds up no problem. I may need to get another one so I can install a third monitor. However, a lot.
