Review on πŸ”Š DROK Power Amplifier Board - 30W+30W Dual Channel 2.0 Audio Amplifier Kit, Class AB, 12V DC, Digital Stereo Amp Module - TDA7377 Car Amplify Circuit for DIY Speakers System by Jane Johnson

Good, but pay attention to power supply, impedance and sensitivity (see details)

I thought DROK 30W + 30W Two Channel Audio Amplifier 2.0 Class AB Kit 12V DC Digital Stereo Amplifier TDA7377 module would be a good design board and a good alternative to the Class D solution I was looking at. In general, DROK is nothing special. It's a linear amplifier IC with some filter capacitors, some resistors, a potentiometer (the potentiometer is good), a diode and some connections (power, speaker and input). Basically, you're relying almost exclusively on the IC, and that's fine. The build quality seems pretty solid and the heatsink is well attached which is a good thing as this amp gets quite hot. Of course you'll still be well below Tjmax, but this sucker is a lot less efficient than Class D (which you could probably guess by now). The sound quality is better than most D-Class models, but the actual result is worth discussing. 30W? Well that's 35W at 18V with a 4 ohm load. I don't know what power supply you have, but mine is 12v and the speakers are 8 ohms. In return I get a lot of warmth, decent sound, but not very much gain - even with a speaker sensitivity of around 90 dB/W. It barely happened a few small KEFs. At $16, DROK is pretty cheap. Depending on your application - specifically your power supply and the specific characteristics of the speaker - this may not be enough - YMMV.
