This simple infrared remote control works satisfactorily, although I haven't tested it at or near the 25 meter range advertised for use with a Nikon camera. There is no external manufacturer identification, brand name or model number on the remote control. So if I throw away the packaging I have no information about the product. This remote control does not come with any information about the owner. The remote control operates on a single 3 volt button cell battery. All non-destructive approaches I could think of to get the battery compartment/door open have failed. I have emailed the manufacturer's customer service and asked for appropriate instructions for the owner including details of this particular issue. The email form stated that my email would be answered within 24 hours. That was four days ago and I still have no reply. If I can't open the battery compartment, I'll eventually have to throw away and replace this remote. If I don't get any clarification from the manufacturer on how to change the battery, I will definitely not buy another Marrex MX-IR5.
