Review on ๐Ÿ“ธ Capture Effortlessly: Vello FreeWave Wireless Remote Shutter Release for Canon (Sub-Mini Connection) by Onsommoshit Mathews

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Try it you'll love it

I've had another remote shutter release over the year and was delighted. I don't think I can mention the brand but if so I'll add it to my review when I make an update. For some reason, the manufacturer discontinued the remote control and replaced it with another device. I didn't buy it after my block was damaged. The new remote transmitter was larger. It had more features, but cost significantly more and was clunky in the hand. When I was looking for an alternative, I came across the Vello radio remote control. The transmitter is small and you can attach a small strap to hold it with your hands and not drop it. I've had it for a few months now and am very happy with the remote control so far. I'm a real estate photographer and I think which is very useful when a remote is not connected to the cable. Having this freedom is valuable to my business. I can even go into another room and open the shutters. So far I haven't even had to raise the antenna. I have two areas that I'm not very happy with. Since I use this device every day for three to four photo shoots a day, I'm concerned about the battery life. I bought extra batteries and am finding it difficult to swap out the batteries and receiver. There are some small screws holding the area where the battery is located. I loosened the batteries and I'm having trouble pull out the battery storage section easily. This also means that I have to have a small screwdriver with me in case the battery runs out. Yes, you can still release the shutter, but by pressing the trigger on the receiver, but then you're cable-bound again. The transmitter compartment is much easier to open and shouldn't be a problem. According to the manufacturer, the battery should last for years as long as I actively use the remote control and expect it to bother me when the time comes. In summary this remote is great value for money and I would buy another one if something happened to this one. So far I have dropped the transmitter when I forgot to use the bracelet several times on a wooden floor and once on tiles, and it rebounded and still works. Most manufacturers' receivers connect to your camera with a receiver-to-camera cable. and install the receiver on the hot shoe. I use a hot shoe for my flash transmitter, so I have to dangle the remote when my camera is on a tripod. This can be very annoying because when I go upstairs it rattles and moves everywhere. The cable detached from the receiver and fell to the ground. My wife had an old mace that came with a snap-lock case. I took the case into my receiver and it fit perfectly. I then took some Velcro and threaded it through the clamp and around one of the tripod legs and it worked great. This solved the problem that he was rocking everywhere and getting in the way. Another viewer mentioned that he struggled in cold weather. Haven't used it in cold weather yet but will change my rating if I find this to be an issue for me. Not all houses that I photograph are empty and unheated. My wife had an old mace that came with a snap-lock case. I took the case into my receiver and it fit perfectly.
