Great educational toy! So many possibilities! Funny smell though!

Super cute! We gave them to our almost 4 year old daughter for Christmas! On her level, I like that the objects in the acorns are color-coordinated with the acorn lids and labels to narrow things down a bit when she learns what her letter sounds like. Little items are so much fun and for some reason little kids love these items. The only criticism is the plastic smell. It's not a terrible smell (sort of coffee with a hint of a weird mushroom/coffee smell. Sounds bad but I don't think it's bad enough that I want to go back) but noticeable enough that I felt the need to order it to mention. I've read enough reviews on Amazon to know that some people get really upset about the smell of plastic. My rating is 4 stars because of the smell. I also need to figure out how to store the toy as a set as the packaging it comes in is a bit bulky to play with. This type of toy isn't one I want to play with haphazardly if it's scattered around the house. It just occurred to me that we have a container or two I could use! Yay! This is a great educational toy and we will enjoy it for home study. We can use them to play hide and seek. Maybe just one color at a time. There are many possibilities with them! I love her! UPDATE: I still like the toy but the weird smell doesn't go away.
