My local ISP sold me a security system along with high speed internet access. We never wanted a security system but it was free in the package so it was either that or nothing. I found out later that the company had deceived us, so I returned the security system. The only part I found useful was the door alarm. Somehow information about when people come and go was missing. So I researched a lot of door alarms. Nowhere was it stated that these were compatible with older door sensors. This includes a base unit and a remote sensor, which is all I need. I've tried several times to pair the base unit with the original sensor but it doesn't seem to be compatible. This is normal as the old sensor could easily be replaced with a new one (even smaller). So far it works perfectly. It rang intermittently at first, so when I removed the switch cover I found the battery had fallen out of its holder. I put it back in and haven't had any problems since.
