Review on Renewed Logitech K800 Wireless πŸ’‘ Illuminated Keyboard: Brighter, Better, and More Convenient by Ada Chlebicka ᠌

Revainrating 2 out of 5

The purchase did not justify itself at all.

This is the second time I have bought this keyboard and I am extremely satisfied. There is no better keyboard for me. I don't like mechanical keyboards with long key travel, I really want low profile keys. And actually under such conditions - this is the best keyboard. I first bought it at the end of 2022 and since then there have been no problems with it - only joy. But recently, since August 2022, the Enter key began to pop up (that is, after almost 6 years of very active use) and I decided to buy a new one just like it - simply because there were no new better ones. The only thing that upset me a little is that the quality of the plastic in the new keyboard has deteriorated a little, although this is not critical and someone may not agree with me. I am attaching photos where the old keyboard is on top and the new one on the bottom (so you can compare the quality of the plastic at least visually). In my opinion, the plastic has become less smooth and more grainy in contrast to the old keyboard. I am attaching 3 photos at once under different light sources. : After a few weeks of use, I found that the new keyboard lasted a maximum of a week, while the previous keyboard held a charge for 2 months. Because of this, I lower the rating from 5 to 3 points, it's just disgusting. 2: Tired of the keyboard holding a charge for a maximum of a week, I decided to change the batteries (in the previous revision of the keyboard, this could be easily done by unscrewing the screw on the back panel and removing the cap). But what a surprise it was when I opened the tray on the back of the keyboard of the new revision and found that there was no longer access to the batteries! This is terrible, what did you do? Why did you worsen the keyboard here too, taking away from us the opportunity to replace the bad batteries that you put in this keyboard? How can I replace them then? Disassemble the entire keyboard? I lower the score by another 1 point, the total score for your keyboard is 2 points. Well done Logitech, great keyboard ate.

Pros
  • Backlit, close-spaced, quiet, short key travel, low-profile keys, easy volume adjustment without having to use the Fn key
Cons
  • - the quality of the plastic has decreased in the latest revisions of the keyboard - holds a charge a little: literally 1 week maximum - Batteries can no longer be replaced! In past revisions, it was possible, but now it seems that you need to disassemble the entire keyboard

Pros: Works flawlessly, backlight - I see everything in the dark. The key travel for me is acceptable, but the rigidity is not for everyone. Quiet but not silent. Different cons: Of course the price is high
