Although I knew it was for backyard volleyball when I bought this set, I live in Tucson, Arizona and we don't have yards, at least no lawn yards. So I was planning to use it on the sandy cove behind our house or preferably on the beach in Mexico where we vacation regularly. I'm happy to report that with a simple modification (I replaced the included guy rope "tent poles" with a heavy duty 1" OD black iron (steel) tube (available from Home Depot/Lowes ) replaced and modified (by me with a chisel point) and driven about 1/3 of its length into the sand with a mini sledge to keep the net stable in the sand), now the set is quite suitable for quality beach volleyball. We have it Used for the first time on a beach in Mexico during Easter week 2017 and again that same year, the second week of June In fact, in June we had such a pleasant environment that other visitors thought it was a "public space” of our condominium We ended up having a fantastic afternoon/evening 8v8 family tournament one evening (strong enough for my iron pipes and sled) An added plus is the presence of a pump and a ball. Everything is very tidied up after a week in the sun and sand and ready for our next trip!
