Maybe the silicone is good enough, like the Garmin original, but I'll never know as the latch is responsible for holding the watch strap doesn't fit to the same strap, resulting in incorrect mounting of the watch. Really sad, but it would be even sadder to lose or break my Garmin due to a loose strap latch. As seen in the picture the latch itself shortens when trying to move it to the other side which is not what you want to see. Conclusion: Not every Chinese product works as described
