Doesn't fulfill its only function

The surface of the mouse pad is too smooth and has no visual texture for mouse tracking. I'm using a Razer Naga Hex and the first half second of movement each time I move the mouse doesn't even register and when I move the mouse it randomly slows down and doesn't track all movements. The mouse works on every other surface I've used it on, even frosted glass.
