This is half my fault, half the crappy Q&A above. I had to keep scrolling and reading the reviews/seeing more pics. It is not. IS NOT. IN ANY CASE. HARD OR HARD. I used to use aluminum mouse pads but they wear out (sand) quickly and tracking becomes a problem so I was looking for something hard, thin and non-slip. underpants. I didn't really know what to expect when I ordered it, but the quality is better than I thought. And it's big (see photo).

This is a very fast smooth interface for quick response. It's thin enough that the surface it sits on is firm. It seems to have a nice texture, but you can't really feel it on your skin, so that's a plus in my book. The soft bottom provides a good non-slip lining to keep things from moving. I love it

The surface of the mouse pad is too smooth and has no visual texture for mouse tracking. I'm using a Razer Naga Hex and the first half second of movement each time I move the mouse doesn't even register and when I move the mouse it randomly slows down and doesn't track all movements. The mouse works on every other surface I've used it on, even frosted glass.

Pad on the back prevents slipping on the table. The smooth mouse surface ensures smooth mouse gliding. If you think you don't need an optical mouse pad, you must try this mouse pad. It's really very important. I also like that it is very thin.

I can't tell how good these mouse pads are for gaming; However, I can confirm that this mouse pad is NOT smooth (and I know how smooth a mouse pad is is entirely subjective, but I think I can tell smooth from "wavy"). I like this mouse pad because it's very thin and doesn't interfere when I put my tablet or even a piece of note paper on it. Because it has a hard surface, I can write on paper on it, unlike neoprene mouse pads. Also, it's easy to clean and won't stain like neoprene. Finally, it's larger than the others and has a rubber backing so it won't slip or scratch your desktop. Great product in every way.
