We received this after our trainer suggested a different "soft" correction device when the dog was not responding to the standard correction. Well, every time we press the button, his ears go back (so he definitely hears it) and he just gets angry and barks some more. He'll also bark more aggressively, like he's scared or just angry that he's hearing the sound. I don't blame the device as it turned out to be very difficult to train! It charges quickly and the battery life was great. The laser pointer is fun, but we don't have a cat so it's just a feature we fiddle with from time to time. For a smooth correction, this is an excellent option. It just didn't work to keep the obnoxious barking of a very stubborn dog at bay.
