Hardly photochromatic, not worth $20.
I wrapped one side with a kitchen towel and left it on the windowsill in the sun for over 10 minutes. I come back and find them barely tinted. Good glasses but they are not what they advertise. In the diagram I have the impression that they get darker if they don't have (sun) glasses.
