I've been looking for a stabilizer compatible with different types of cameras, but so far my search has been unsuccessful. Previously, there were $400+ units that were bulky, heavy, and designed specifically for large format cameras, or $120+ units that were more compact but only for smartphones or action cameras. This is due to the weight and balance of the camera, as well as the torque available from the mortors to rotate it. Now, in most cases, this stabilizer is an uncompromising master. It gets along with my mirrorless camera, action cam and my smartphone without any problems. Larger digital SLR cameras are not yet available. There are manual 3-axis adjustments when changing the camera format. So you can't just switch between cameras and expect everything to work flawlessly. You must manually balance each axis to keep the motors running. It doesn't matter as I usually dedicate one camera for video recording and the other for portability or photography. I just appreciate the flexibility when I decide to change something. My videos are definitely more stable compared to portable devices. Even with a GoPro 7 and onboard stabilization enabled, video quality improves when mounted on a stabilizer. Overall I'm very impressed. It looks like Feiyu designed this gimbal specifically for Sony mirrorless cameras as a reference form factor. I'm not surprised as this is one of the most popular APSC mirrorless cameras. The video shows unboxing, but I forgot to remove the included Swiss Arca plate. Note that I also pre-balanced the gimbal to match the Sony for easier video capture. It's pretty easy to do. Youtube videos are easy to find and the included QR code can be scanned to link you directly to the tutorial videos. Overall, I'm impressed with the fit and finish. The trailer itself is very well made. The grip on the handles is good. The keys are crisp and have a good tactile feel. There are multiple adjustment knobs and screw points, all of which are sand-free, properly lubricated, and run smoothly. The smartphone holder is such a basic device, but I'm surprised they haven't cut corners here. The padding appears to be high-density, closed-cell foam mounted on a precision-machined aluminum mount. No plastic! Even the zipper on the suitcase is custom made with a logo. The 9 hour battery life is really impressive, and the fact that it's just a common 26650 Li-Ion battery means I can go ahead and buy a generic replacement without necessarily ordering a replacement directly from Feiyu have to. But 9 o'clock. that's long. So what don't I like about it? Aside from the need to reconcile every time you switch to a different camera format, there's nothing else. I wish the Swiss Arca mount was compatible with my Peak Design Capture but unfortunately it is not. The grip plate is slightly thicker than the Feiyu plate. I'm also a bit disappointed that I can't fit the gimbal into the case after balancing everything. I have to loosen up some adjustments and lose precise balance every time I put it back in the case. This is simply due to the shape of the blow molding. It's a bit annoying but to be honest I mount the camera on the gimbal all the time so it still doesn't fit the setup. Aside from addressing those issues, it works great and at a great price.
