Scott 24 Hour Sanitizing Wipes have a different texture than any other wipes I have tried. The wipe has a pattern of dotted hexagons and dotted triangles, which I suspect has something to do with spreading enough sanitizing active ingredients onto thoroughly wetted surfaces. In order to disinfect and deodorize the surface, the instructions say to wipe the surface with enough wipes. to keep the surface wet for 15 seconds. Instructions say to clean and disinfect the surface with enough wipes to keep it visibly damp for 6 minutes. For the rest of the self-disinfection, the instructions state that the surface must be wiped with enough wipes to keep it visibly damp for 5 minutes and that soap and water remove the disinfectant residue, so the disinfection process must be repeated. I tested a napkin on a clean kitchen island in my kitchen. Not a large area, sleeps three. The meter stayed wet for approximately 1 minute and 20 seconds. This tells me to use more than one cloth to achieve 5-6 minutes as directed by the instructions. Wipes are about 0.11 each, but using multiple wipes adds up. The wipes have a slight odor that lingers on my hands. I can't identify the smell; it is not isopropyl or ethyl alcohol or hydrogen peroxide. I could not find a list of inactive ingredients. Canisters do not have a seal under the lid.
