Review on πŸ”΄ Inateck KT5001 PCI-E to USB 3.0 Card: 5 Ports with Power Connector - Red by Scott Holland

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good product with flaws

Overall a good product but with two (2) major flaws. Here they are: 1) The included cables to power the card are ridiculously short. Just go to a review from a "paid" reviewer who got the product for practically nothing (Josh H.), watch his video and see when he plugs the power cord into the card, it's taut and hardly fits. This forced me to buy a cord (at $10) to keep the power going. Even though reviewer Josh states in his review that you don't need electricity unless you're charging devices, don't believe it. Whatever I plugged into this card, the system didn't recognize it. The device manager in Windows 10 recognized the card without any problems, but without power the devices were not recognized. 2) The Inateck website is hands down one of the worst support websites I've seen in over 30 years. years of experience in IT. Finding drivers was painful. Now that we've dealt with two issues, a little background. I'm installing this card on a Dell Optiplex 980 Tower running Windows 10. It's working correctly now, but what should have taken 10 minutes turned out to be hours of wasted installation. Overall I'm happy (for now but will come back to give a longer term update) and that would be 5 stars but 4 stars is all I can give.
