Fresco FL100EX chipset has problems

The card installs fine in my version of Windows 10 Pro (the drivers are already included in Win10). I transferred a 50GB file (computer backup image) from an external SSD to an external rotating hard drive. Both were USB3.0. I keep getting "Error: 0x800701B1: Nonexistent device specified". The explorer window for the external SSD was closed and then reopened. I noticed that other people reported the same problem with this chipset. I've tried different combinations to move a large file to and…

OK, first then. Problems

Installed this on my Windows 10 PC to add support for a 4k video camera and microphone and the ability to connect an external 3.0 hard drive. Has worked well for several months. However, I recently had a boot issue where the computer would throw codes "99 then 9C then A2" then freeze and not boot. It eventually boots up after a few presses of the reset button. I thought it might be a low battery in the bios so I disabled it. But same problem. Also, my Bluetooth headset stopped working properly…

Some installation issues but works great now!

There were problems with the installation. I plugged in the card and attached a separate two-port USB backplate to the card, then turned on the power. Drivers were installed from Win 10, but the device does not recognize the connected devices. I double checked the power supply (Corsair rm750i supplied), seats etc. The controllers are recognized in the device manager of the control panel. Devices didn't disappear from Device Manager, so power went to the card. The motherboard was an Asus X299…

I would give the board five stars if Inateck had better documentation/software support. The hardware itself seems good. I am using the 5+2 port version of the card (KTU3FR-5O2I) in a Dell T7400 device that does not natively support USB 3.0. Pros: 1) The card and cables appear to be well made. It's great that Inateck has included the adapter's power cable. I ended up using the SATA power cable as an extension cable as my native cables were too short to reach the card. 2) After figuring out what…

Good product with some installation issues

The problem with the product on my computer was that Win 8.1 recognized it as (Logitech Unifying USB Receiver). Because of this misidentification, Windows ignored new USB card drivers. Inateck should fix this. I came up with the following workaround: Go to Start, Control Panel, Device Manager, and then select Universal Serial Bus Controllers. open it. Select the (Driver) tab, (Update Driver), (Browse my computer for a driver), select (Pick from a list) and finally (Composite USB Device) and…

Firmware error - causes PC to wake up/reboot after installation!

I've been using Linux for over 20 years so I have an idea of what I do with computers. After installing this card in my well-maintained computer, the USB stick triggers a PC wake-up or reboot event after trying to shut down the computer in the operating system using software shutdown. I've had multiple keyboards or USB hubs in the distant past and it's usually troublesome to find the cause of such PC wake/reboot events after OS software shutdown. Usually caused by bugs in a USB device's…

Great Upgrade for USB Transfer

This card exceeds USB 2.0 transfer speed. I've used it with Windows and some Linux operating systems. If you have an old tower PC without USB 3.0 ports that regularly backs up a few gigabytes, this card is a great upgrade. I successfully backed up about 230GB in about 45 minutes to a Seagate 1TB USB 3.0 FreeAgent GoFlex external drive that I bought a few years ago and am still happy with. I like the 5-port option (Inatech has a 2-port card, some with external power supply, others don't need it)

Good product with flaws

Overall a good product but with two (2) major flaws. Here they are: 1) The included cables to power the card are ridiculously short. Just go to a review from a "paid" reviewer who got the product for practically nothing (Josh H.), watch his video and see when he plugs the power cord into the card, it's taut and hardly fits. This forced me to buy a cord (at $10) to keep the power going. Even though reviewer Josh states in his review that you don't need electricity unless you're charging devices,
