I bought these because I saw a tutorial video by Shari Carroll on You Tube showing you a smaller area can use stamp pads (as opposed to the larger ones) to apply ink directly to the stamps and have more control over where you can apply different colors and I was shocked at how well it came out. I've tried printing stamps with large ink pads, but the opacity was never good enough. I think the secret was how she sprinkled a little bit of water on the image before stamping it. This gave everything a very nice watercolor effect, but the image seemed to have enough clarity to see the stamped image really well. I think this technique works with certain types of stamps, but maybe not all. In this case, they (and I) used a Winter Tree Stamp from Hero Arts.
