Review on πŸ‘ž Skechers Work Hartan Slip Brown Men's Shoes: Ideal Loafers & Slip-Ons by Mike Bonilla

After a short period of use the stitching on the toes is wearing out and the rubber is peeling off

I've been wearing them for less than a month and although they're relatively comfortable and a decent weight, the stitching on the toe of the shoe is worn and the rubber comes off. I don't work on my knees, which means my toes rub against the ground, and I don't do footwork in these shoes. In these shoes I only did light work on the street and in the stable. Nothing very stressful or dirty. Look at the photo of the sock I've attached. These shoes appear to be of excellent quality and are brand new. I thought they would go a long way initially. In my opinion, this is where most of the good reviews for this shoe on Amazon come from. But as far as actual use goes, the toes couldn't handle even the lightest of gardening tasks. Update: After another week of use, I felt the need to update this review with another photo of the progressive deterioration. I've done the same job as many other work boots/boots without this problem. As you can see, the skin is in good condition, the problem lies in the thin elastic band sewn to the toe. I'm curious what the animators' R&D department were thinking when they wrapped the toe in this thin rubber instead of pulling the leather up to the sole. This last photo is also just after 4 weeks of daily housework. I was hoping to break in these shoes at home and then actually use them at work for the next month, but they clearly didn't last a month at home. You would never last a month at work, and what's the use of a work shoe if it can't withstand the strain?

Pros
  • Steel Toe Cap
Cons
  • Damaged
