When you want a direct, flat signal that sounds like music, the spoken word, etc., processed to sound like as it is this headphone you . They just sound like Shure in-ear monitors. They're definitely worth the money if you enjoy listening to different genres of music and spoken word. I definitely got tired of switching EQ settings to listen to a podcast because some unnamed competitors' headphones were too dynamic and bass-heavy. So yes. If you're a music lover or sound engineer (ex-audio specialist yourself), you'll appreciate these little guys. The buttons are easier to press than regular Bluetooth phones, which is nice. Another bonus: I don't think I've ever had a problem returning a Shure product. The only thing I would like to change is the lack of an indicator light to show when it is fully charged. Just a red light to indicate it needs to be charged, which goes off when it's done. A green "done" light would be reassuring, but not a deal-breaker.
