Nice, but durability problem?

I'll start with the bad as it just happened and that's what prompted me to write this review. After about 6 months we noticed that the mat was starting to come loose as seen in the photos. Really disappointing as we are not tall people (under 120lbs) and don't roll or drag things across the mat. I guess we stepped on the ledge more often (just spat) and I'll try to avoid the ledge now that we rotated it so the separating piece is under the closet ledge, but I don't want to focus on that. But otherwise everything is good. I'm not the best when it comes to decoration but I love the way it looks. He doesn't move that much (put him back in his place every week or so, but I'm a bit obsessive) and he's nice and soft. It really makes a difference when I'm preparing a large batch of meals after a group has gathered, to the point where I put them in front of the stove knowing I'll be standing for any length of time. And it's very easy to clean. This was very important to us as our little one threw up eating a few times a week (premium, long story but he's already gone) and although we rushed to the sink it was often too late and the carpet took over . blow. A couple of paper towels, then a Lysol napkin, and it's all good as new. I'm torn about buying it again. It was comparatively cheap, but I could choose something with better durability stats when it comes time to replace it. If the other side doesn't part for a while. I'll definitely be getting another one then (and I'll update this review to reflect that).
