I used to use an emergency sleeping bag to cover my scope that cost about $10. This item is significantly more expensive in price but I doubt it is justified. I just got it and will have to see how it holds up but of course I don't expect it to be as durable as the '365' scope caps which cost over twice the price of these. I also wonder how well the single lanyard catch will work on a tripod since I need to lower the lid all the way down to protect my control modules and power supplies. I'll probably have to come up with additional straps like bungee straps to close the bottom tighter.
