Review on πŸ’‘ SnapPower GuideLight 2: 4 Pack LED Night Light for Outlets - New Version with Automatic On/Off Sensor by David Burns

Revainrating 3 out of 5

A great idea! Needs some polishing!

I bought a pack of 10. One out of 10 failed. SnapPower sent me a new one with a bad return label, problem solved. I really like the lights, but there are a few things to watch out for. They're pretty expensive for what they are. The ambient light sensor sits too deep in the lid, which causes problems, e.g. B. that the light stays on all the time during the day, even when there is a lot of light in the room. I think the sensor should be moved closer to the surface of the board and away from the LEDs to the top of the board. The contacts are a little flimsy, but I assume it's intentional that they flex over the screw terminals. The screws on the sides of all of my outlets weren't fully tightened, so I had to pull the outlet out, screw in the terminals, reseat, and then install the trim. However, this is not rocket science. I'm close to 3-4 stars. But I think the price of the cover alone brings it down, add the light sensors themselves which doesn't do what they're supposed to do, I think three stars is what it should be. Edit: I've had them for a year and they're still going strong. I installed 5 with my relatives and they couldn't be happier. I like the covers but they are expensive. I didn't notice any changes compared to the second batch I ordered. The same problem with the sensitivity of the sensor. Turning them upside down isn't aesthetically pleasing, nor does the proximity to the LEDs themselves help!
