This is a beautiful modern wall light. They're plastic so nothing high end but I knew I was going to get in and they give the effect I want and certainly look great from a normal viewing distance. The good news (and I'm glad I heard a previous review that contradicted the general consensus and even the manufacturer's answers) are these DO DIMs - and they're pretty nice! I have them on triac dimmers (i.e. forward in phase) - both smoothly and almost to complete blackout before dump. Very satisfied. One minus - the light falls on the wall with a slight separation of colors - that is, right at the edge of the light beam there is a yellow stripe, if you look closely. Since I have a gray painted wall it's not obvious but for lighting lovers you will notice. highlights the texture. With wood, stone and intentionally structured walls, this creates a beautiful play of light and shadow that really brings out the best in the material. So now - if you're putting this on drywall - make sure the putty does a good job before choosing a light like this. (unrelated to this particular fixture) - Moving the wall will expose any tape seams, screw locations and dents in your wall unless they are very well putty. If you're not sure - take a flashlight and lean it against the wall and see if you like what you see before you buy. Our walls are brand new and well taped by the pros - and I can still see a spot or two with imperfections that are only visible with the sconces - so just something to think about. Overall - I would recommend them and buy them again. Enjoy!
