Review on Canon Mirrorless Camera 18 55Mm Stabilization by Corey Holloway

Good NOT Excellent Camera

Excellent Camera! However, this is a camera with a high learning curve for capturing exceptional shots. Autofocus is good, not great. A moving object is difficult to catch. Subjects in low light are difficult to capture. The sound quality for the video is acceptable, but again not very good. I added a Rode Video Micro ($59) and the sound quality was exceptional. The battery life is so-so. I took about 120 photos and only 5 minutes of video and the battery was flashing red. The second battery was better, but still not very good (177 photos and more than 7 minutes of video). As I play, use, and learn the camera, the image quality gets better, but still not as sharp as I would like. The video quality in good light is excellent. The less light, the less powerful I find the camera. THIS IS NOT A POINT AND SHOOTING CAMERA. If you are looking for a quality compact still and video camera then consider it alongside the Sony a6000, a6300, a6500 or step up to the Canon EOS M5 or M6. I will leave the M3 as it tires me and I get better at it.
