Review on πŸ—„οΈ Espresso Rolling Storage and File Cabinet by Techni Mobili by Erin Sacchetti

Mfg needs to improve the dimensions of the filing cabinet parts and use solid wood for the back.

First question: assembly. The bottom "board" of the drawer and the back of the filing cabinet board are just a cheap, thin piece of painted chipboard. These boards are removed so that you cannot attach them properly to flush the back of the drawers and the top of the cabinet. Since I don't have many tools around my apartment to properly cut these boards, I took a screwdriver to try to make the slot/groove where these boards go in deep enough. Of course if you do this you'll remove some of the paint from the hard pieces of wood and I still couldn't get it deep enough to set properly so it's definitely not a professional looking setup. Second, if you want a "locked"/secured closet, does the back of the closet really have to be that flimsy chipboard?! Another solid piece of wood for the rear would have made it a lot safer, and I'm sure it wouldn't impact manufacturers' paylines enough to be concerned about it. The lock cylinder is pretty cheap too, so picking this lock might not be that difficult. Swap it out for a higher quality one and replace the cheap particle board if you want your items to be more securely stored in the closet.

Pros
  • Don't waste too much time
Cons
  • No insurance
