When I unpacked these lamps I thought they were very pretty and would add a lovely decorative touch to my bedroom. .However, when I charged the device for the first time using one of the lamp's USB ports, I heard a pop and smelled of burning. My device started ringing like it was plugged in or unplugged from a power source. I immediately unplugged the USB cable. Luckily, my device was not damaged, but there was a terrible smell coming from the lamp's USB port. (My dog even got scared sniffing the air). The bottom of the lamp was warm. After that, I held the lamp for some time and smelled burned the whole time. I finally unplugged the lamp and the smell finally dissipated. Now I'm afraid to use lamps even without using USB ports. I don't trust the wiring. I'm just glad I was home and right next to the lamp when the USB port blew up. Do not return lamps. Both lamps are in the trash. I have saved some very nice lampshades and have already renewed one of them. Save money and buy lamps from a department store or lighting store for peace of mind.
