New Supernova 8 (perfect all-rounder)

I had a pair of Adidas Supernova Glide 8. I didn't know it at the time but this shoe caused a firestorm when it came out. I loved these pieces but unfortunately Adidas kept reconfiguring the line. What was Supernovas became the Solar series and apparently they all failed. So I kept using my Supernovas because I didn't like the idea of replacing them with a useless successor. Despite wear and tear on the shoes. To the point where there is a spot on the soles of my feet where the outer part has disappeared and is starting to rub off onto the midsole foam itself. But, as mentioned due to wear and tear, the time has come. I considered several options, but none liked me enough to pull the trigger. At first I didn't pay any attention to Reebok for a while. The brand has lost a lot of its reputation lately. But man, they roll back. After reading some rave reviews about the Floatride series, I gave up. And for a hell of a price compared to other mainstream running lines from other brands, I didn't feel that risky if I didn't totally like them. Supernovas, they feel like the perfect successor. Fits perfectly. Comfortable in the midfoot but splayed enough in the toes that I never had calluses or pain. The foam is a little less soft than the Supernova, but that's not a bad thing. It still feels quite plush, while the added response also feels a little quicker and more capable of setting the pace or racing. Seems like good natural progression as I get stronger in long distance running. The only downside I have is that, like the Supernova, I would have liked more arch support. Where they don't live up to the Supernova is that I miss the Supernova knit upper. The Floatride upper feels a bit stiff at first. Compared to the Supernovas, which seemed perfect from the start, they did a good run before they felt broken enough, after that they bent in all the right places and now I have no issues. But that's not a problem with new shoes. The only other minor thing, they feel like they get a little warm. But not much. EDIT: Update. After riding 250 miles in these shoes, I tore a little at the outer mesh on the insides, where the foot often flexes (at least for me as a forefoot runner), at the balls of my feet. Anywhere between half an inch and an inch tall. They don't seem to affect any functional properties so I think a fabric band around the edges to stop it from growing is all it needs. In terms of fit/feel, all of the above still apply. It works great and is quite comfortable, only with this cosmetic issue.
