First of all, this is simply the best massage ball for shoulder/back/buttocks massage. I've literally tried them all. Tennis balls are too soft for most purposes, while lacrosse balls are usually harder than desired. The hardness and size of this ball is *just right*. And for some reason there doesn't seem to be any other brand that sells individual massage balls of this consistency and size. However, this ball has a major disadvantage: the walnut-sized hard core is simply not fully bonded to the outer foam layer. It's only glued in a small area, which means the more you use this ball, the more the foam will stretch and peel away from the glue, detaching from the inner core. Then the foam will quickly break with further use. If you use this ball for 10 minutes every day, expect to have to replace the ball about every 3 months. World. But that's frustrating because there's no need for it - if they just glued the inner core all the way down to the foam there wouldn't be a problem. That's enough for years. The minor catch is that the multicolored streaks are caused by different foam densities, so the black circles are softer than the green ones. It's advertised as a feature, but it's stupid - no one wears it on their back where they can *see* it and choose which part of the ball to put pressure on. Also, you usually roll on it anyway, so you collide with all the pieces. Differences in foam density are simply meaningless. So, TriggerPoint, if you're listening, make a new ball that's *fully bonded to the core* and uses only one density of foam!
