This worked very well for deep cleaning and conditioning my leather chair. I have professionally cleaned leather upholstery in the past and I have to say that the instructions and cleaning pads provided are intended for routine cleaning rather than restorative cleaning. If what you're cleaning isn't that dirty, follow the directions on the bottles and you'll be fine. If your piece looks more like mine (very dirty) you can try this: Remove the microfiber covering from the rectangle (I cut it with scissors). The sponge inside removes deep dirt much better than a microfiber cloth. Keep the sponge wet while cleaning. I kept a small tub of warm water nearby to rinse and re-wet the sponge. Be sure to wipe the sponge with a damp cloth (if necessary, rinse and dampen the sponge again). This will help remove excess cleanser and any deep dirt that the cleanser has lifted to the surface.- After cleaning, allow product to DRY COMPLETELY before applying conditioner. You can speed up the drying process with a hair dryer. Don't overdo it with the conditioner. If you did/do it won't hurt anything as long as you buff the extra. In my case, I found that my skin was too dry, so I applied a thick layer. I ended up with a sticky residue that had to be sanded off the next day after drying. Note: Cleaning may reveal cracks or other damage that was previously hidden. This is not a cleaning issue. Dirt and grime are very abrasive and can damage the surface if leather is not cleaned regularly. My chair cleans very well. The lack of dirt shows some damage (that's not an issue with this product either) and the leather is pleasantly soft again.
