Review on 👨 Nexstand Laptop Stand – Enhance Ergonomics & Portability for PC and MacBook Laptops by Reginald Holman

Let's be honest, if you are looking at this product it's probably because Roost caught your attention and then you saw it at half the price. Although visually they appear almost identical, I haven't physically used Roost so I can't really compare them. However, my first impressions are that this is a fragile product that could damage my laptop. I love that it's foldable and comes with a small carrying case. I look forward to tossing this in my backpack and having a pretty handy little work station anywhere. My two main concerns are: 1) Very minimal, almost nonexistent, padding on the parts that come into contact with your laptop. The main point of contact near your palms is particularly hard. No rubber, no padding, just hard plastic. There are a few small strips of rubber at the rear contact point, but the rubber doesn't even seem to touch my laptop due to the corner. It might not matter to some, but part of the reason I paid the premium for the Microsoft Surface Laptop is its excellent build quality. This stand offers no protection and I'm concerned about how my laptop bag might look after prolonged use. 2) It seems very cheap. It feels solid enough in use - I don't think it'll drop my laptop or anything on the spur of the moment - but when opened and folded it feels like it's going to break very easily if you're not careful. It's also very easy to slide across my desk. The little instruction manual says "non-slip base" which actually made me laugh considering it's all plastic. There is nothing "slip". A bit of rubber on the legs would have been nice. Again, these are first impressions. If I decide to keep using this I'll update this review after a while. But right now I can't help but wonder if the Roost was a better buy.
