Review on ๐ŸŒก๏ธ Icstation Digital Thermometer: Car Auto Temperature Gauge Sensor with Dual Display and Waterproof Probes for Aquariums & Vehicles by Andrea Sciuto

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Bright, high contrast, low power consumption, miniature.

This dual thermocouple digital thermometer measures 1" x 1.75" and features a bezel for mounting to a sensor box or DIY project. It also accepts a wide range of voltages. I crimped the JST connector and powered by 6V RC car battery. It has been running for 24 hours with no loss of accuracy or brightness. The thermometer says it can work from 4 volts to 28 volts and it seems to work well at different voltages. The two wires are each 3 feet long. The power jumper is short, about 4 inches, but it's a standard connector on the board, you can replace it with longer wires or just solder it to existing wires. Mine shows the temperature in Fahrenheit. I need a dual temp sensor for my DIY hot tub and this will fill the bill. I'm going to encase the entire display in a clear two part epoxy to weatherproof it and run it off a small lawn mower battery and solar panel/charger should work perfectly for both inlet and outlet temperatures! I tested this by placing one thermocouple in my fridge and the other in the freezer and turning it on. The only odd thing is that it takes a while to register the correct temperature from the 'cold start' - each time the display updates it seems to only be able to update a tenth of a degree at a time. If you're tracking things that don't change temperature quickly, this should be fine for your purposes. The freezer probe accurately measured negative temperatures, and the cost of the fridge checked the IR thermometer readings at the same spot, so the accuracy seems excellent as well. All in all, if you need something that mounts securely to the panel, that supports two sensors, and has 5, 9, 12, or 24 volts available, this is a great, high-visibility thermometer.
