I've been looking for a USB rechargeable headlamp for a long time but there are surprisingly few on the market at any price. The big outdoor brands, if they offer it at all, do well above the $50 price tag with other features I don't need. More than bright enough for general camping and home use, this lamp includes both white and red light to help preserve night vision, as well as a strobe mode that's great as an emergency light. I even used it as a night light for my dog in red flash mode (perfect for his neck). Battery life seems excellent. I don't know what time it is in hours but I could use the flashlight for weeks on a single charge; I'm actually not entirely sure, but I think I've been using it for over a month, a few nights a week, and I don't need a charge. It's not ideal. It lacks any kind of loading indicator, so I'm afraid I'll get few warnings when it dies. I don't know how long it takes to fully charge, sorry. It comes with a short cable, which is a great length for a device like this, although I only use the USB car charger that I already have for other devices. It would also be nice if it had a higher degree of water resistance. But absolutely unbeatable for the price. I will probably buy two more, one for the van, one for the car and one for the house.
