Melissa and Doug have always been my highest quality toys for children. I can always feel safe buying toys from this brand knowing that they are made from safe materials and there is nothing crazy about them like lead paint. It's worth a little extra money to me to make sure our kids don't invest in and handle toxic materials just by playing with kids toys. I would rather buy less safe toys than many toys made from unsafe materials. Less is better. The quality of this product is no different than any other I have purchased under the Melissa and Doug brand. The quality is top-notch and, to say the least, impressive. My youngest is less than 18 months old and she is fascinated by this toy but she doesn't have the intellectual ability to open/close the mechanisms on the bodyboard herself. I think she will probably really enjoy playing with the clasps and locks on this particular toy for the next six months! Now she just enjoys watching me show her how to open and close the toy's doors and she'll copy me by trying to do the same without success. During this time, the toy takes them less than two minutes at a time.
