UPDATE #2: Fatally flawed design - Downgrading to 1 star is the worst product I have ever purchased from Revain.

UPDATE 7/13/21: REDUCED RATING TO 100 NEGATIVE STARS IF POSSIBLE. Everything I wrote in my last review update is worse than before. UPDATE: REDUCED TO 1 STAR: After trying my best for a few weeks, my experience with this keyboard has been an endless series of disappointments. 90% of problems are related to the trackpad. The trackpad has limited benefits for a touchscreen device as of IMO. There are two inherent flaws, one being that the trackpad is too close to the keyboard. Another thing is that he is too sensitive. No matter how I try to change the position of my hand, my thumb or part of my hand keeps touching the trackpad. Even the slightest touch will cause the cursor to randomly move to a different part of the text and start typing letters, or randomly insert letters and spaces on its own, or worst of all, make sentences or paragraphs of text disappear. It's just that while writing this review I had to repeat some sections 5 or 6 times. This has been a problem since I first got a keyboard case. At first I thought it was because I wasn't used to the trackpad. However, after about 7 weeks I came to the conclusion that it was an incompatibility between my writing style and the keyboard design. I typed it and asked if there was a way to disable the trackpad, but got a generic and unhelpful response. I also found the battery lifting awful. My previous keyboard could last weeks without a charge - this one barely lasts a few days. All in all, this is one of my most frustrating and disappointing purchases. Bought it with my new iPad Air. I had a keyboard case with similar features for my old iPad Pro. The particular feature I wanted was the ability to change the angle of the screen to multiple angles and rotate the screen 360 degrees. I often use my iPad to watch movies, videos, etc. during my workouts, and the ability to rotate the screen so the keyboard is *behind* the screen is an important feature. Pros: Easy setup, comfortable typing experience - the keys are responsive and firm to the touch. The outside of the case has a non-slip surface, which I like. Backlit keys with adjustable colors and brightness. Cons: The tray that houses the iPad looks like it's made out of rubbery plastic rather than the hard plastic that surrounds the keyboard; it looks and feels cheap, and the iPad tends to pop out easily. The combination of a thinner overlay tray and the hinge rigidity makes opening the keyboard case more difficult. The keyboard case is surprisingly heavy - the new iPad Air is significantly lighter than my old iPad Pro, but with the case on it is heavier than my old setup. Not very heavy, but noticeable. Another downside is that the volume buttons are *much* harder to use in this case. It's not a design flaw, but so far I find the touchpad completely useless and annoying. I had no choice as they don't offer a keyboard only option. I hope the situation will improve after using it for a while. Summary: If you want a keyboard case with a 360 degree rotating screen and no kickstand design, this is the only choice in my opinion. It looks well made and durable with a great typing experience. It's difficult to open, surprisingly heavy, and the volume buttons don't work as they should. Overall, given the selection of keyboard cases, this is probably the best choice in the sub-$80 keyboard case category.

Pros
  • Key Covers
Cons
  • Good, but not great
