The best I've ever bought for a herniated disc

, I've been waiting about 3 months to write this. I have an L2 herniation and some sort of disc disease on all the lumbar spines, basically. Sitting is very painful and driving is difficult. I live in the mountains and have to travel 40-100+ miles back and forth to go to school or wherever. For years I've cut pieces of memory foam mattress pads, then covered them with pillowcases and lugged them around to cushion whatever I was sitting on (which looks ridiculous and draws a lot of looks I've learned to basically ignore). . However, the pain after sitting was terrible. A few days after the long drive, I even felt nauseous. When I received this I thought well this seems a bit stiff not very soft. (I have to have a thick soft pad on my bed as laying down at night also hurts so much that it keeps me awake.) Well I tried this rug and now I use it everywhere. The coccyx notch relieves pressure and is angled enough to align the spine. I'm sitting in chairs, in our boat, in vehicles, everywhere. It certainly hasn't cured me, but if I really overdo it with sitting now the pain is much, much less and I won't necessarily be in a mess for the next two days. Just make sure the coccyx cutout is directly below you, so you're sitting squarely on the pillow. I also recommend going for the largest one unless you're a character fanatic. This prevents hard edges from lining up directly under or near the sciatic nerve, which can make the pain worse, and also gives you a little wiggle room. Experiment and you'll know when you're aligned correctly. It develops imperceptibly, and it seems that nobody notices me with it. I agree the handle isn't thick enough so I just carry it folded under my arm. I also wish it wasn't that expensive, but it turned out to be worth every penny. At the moment it appears to be "broken in" but shows no signs of breakage. Many thanks to whoever came up with this!
