Review on TinyRigs Osmopocket Pocketable Compact Controller by Vedavyas Fleming

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Right concept, execution has to be perfect

I really like the idea fallen when i saw it. Conceptually it was almost what I wanted. However, the case is so narrow that you really have to make an effort to get the bag out. Especially where there is a Wi-Fi adapter. It literally blocks. Every time I tried to take the case out, the WiFi adapter was disabled, probably putting a heavy load on the USB-C port. SOLUTION: I took an exact knife (a razor blade) and cut the sides of the soft rubber at the very bottom of the Wi-Fi zone. It works better but is still tight but may loosen with use. Also, the slot on the right side (from the side of the screen) should be made larger and positioned the same as on the left side. The part of the wheel that makes the USB connection fits snugly against the protruding part of the rubber. It's bulkier, but that's to be expected, and it still fits in my pocket. I think the bottom of almost all cases including the DJI case should have slots on the side and one on the bottom to slide out/pull out the Osmo pouch. The final verdict will be announced shortly; If removing the osmo pouch from the case solves the problem I would give it 5 stars. is. Without the Wi-Fi bracket on the bottom, it was easier to remove. However, when I put the Wi-Fi attachment in my pocket, there's not enough room to turn around a bit, and the bulk and narrowness make it useless when it's attached. Tiny Rigs have proposed a revised model, hoping to get hold of it and see if they fix the problem. I hope so, because it would be nice to take a wide-angle lens, phone adapter, filters and micro SD cards in this case.

Pros
  • Individual slot: Individual slot for all important accessories, offers up to 4 slots for ND filters, a smartphone adapter slot and a MicroSD (TF) card slot
Cons
  • Very expensive
