I bought them long enough before I started using them that I forgot what I was expecting when I bought them. However, when I put in some batteries, I was very impressed that they were touch-only (no button required). Looking at the listing I can see that they clearly say they have a touch sensor, but I feel like I didn't expect it to work that well. It does. They don't always turn on the first time you touch them, but I don't mind that. The adjustable brightness is great, as is the on/off mechanism. I kept one under my desk as I am always plugging something new into my computer and I was tired of having a flashlight between my teeth. They are perfect for what I need.
