better than most tripods, but there are two major downsides, and if you can think about them, then it's not too bad.

In the ever changing world of entertainment I had to switch from Live on Stage to Zoom, FB Live and Google Meet. I am a deaf magician and needed a quality iPad holder for my virtual shows. It looks like it has good reviews and the price was fair. it arrived quickly (yesterday august 2nd) and I could tell right away that it was heavier than some of the other tripods which gave me hope. I use a lot of camera tripods and lights for my shows, so I'm very familiar with tripods. Disassemble the tripod along with the iPad holder to put it back in your bag. It makes no sense! They literally just killed the convenience of having a holdall for him. Instead of just squeezing it together and putting it in the trunk, you have to disassemble each part and then put it away for storage. So this is NOT the design I want. I guess if you don't plan on taking it with you or packing it often it's not a big deal but for me or anyone who travels a lot it will drive you crazy and take time. The main disadvantage #2 is that it is very heavy with the iPad. I bought this particular one because of the gooseneck feature. Most iPad stands don't tilt enough for me to stand the iPad up and tilt it down to see the table if needed. The gooseneck makes this possible. HOWEVER, the rotation system of the small ball does not hold. This means that after snapping the plastic holder into place and tightening the plastic knob, the iPad doesn't stay where I want it to be. He will slowly slide down and then fuck to the end. Very frustrating. I literally only used it for a live zoom magic show (3rd August 11:20am) and it took me about 10 minutes of fiddling with it to get it working. Because the ball function doesn't do what it's supposed to do, I wasn't able to set up the iPad the way I wanted. In my opinion, this is a major shortcoming, as it completely eliminates an important function. Yes, I could tighten it more, but in the past most holders have broken the plastic screw. The quality of these holders is not the best. I'm looking for several options to compensate for this problem. The last downside I want to mention is how heavy this stand is. So if you don't position it correctly, it will just tip over and fall to the ground. The solution that helps is to make sure one leg of the tripod is pointing in the same direction your iPad is resting on a gooseneck. Thus, the weight is carried by this leg. However, if you barely push it the other way, you'll say goodbye to your iPad. Knowing it's for an iPad (and I only have a 10X7 without a case) needs to consider the weight and either have longer legs or a heavier base. As I mentioned earlier, as long as you point one foot in one direction and no one walks around it, you'll be fine. Mine stayed in perfect condition throughout the performance, but that can be an issue if you have a pet, kids, or anyone else who might hit it. Gooseneck is what might make me leave this one. This feature alone makes me underestimate other shortcomings. I could have my seamstress sew me a bag that actually fits the tripod so I can pack it up quickly without having to disassemble it every time. Not to mention that it also loosens up the ball's spin range, which, as I said, isn't a good thing. Based on that, I would recommend a tripod with the cons in mind. If they don't bother you or you think you can get around it, then it's a good bet. I haven't decided yet whether I'll keep it or not, but I will by the end of this week. I have 3 more shows to use this week and by then I should have a better idea if it's worth my time and investment. Magic your Sam
