I bought this to replace a 40 year old folding shovel I bought at an army store. I've been looking for it for a week. It showed up a week after I got a new one. My first impression was that it was a bit small. This was confirmed when the old one appeared. For use as an under house shovel (the reason I was looking for one) it would take MUCH longer to get the job done. This is too little. If I was into camping or hiking, this would be my top choice. It comes in a nice pouch that doesn't take up much space. If I need a smaller shovel I would use a garden shovel which is also shown. i will return it
