I wanted to replace our old unit. A 40-year-old man gave me box spring beds (with real springs that wobble and squeak inside) and a bed frame with 5 inches of travel. Even with 3" risers I needed more storage. I'm stuck between this and a basic platform bed frame. I'm so glad I went with this. Firstly it's huge and weighs about 120lbs. as I'm impatient and not on mine man wants to wait, i pump it up inside me and assemble it with a little help from my 11 year old.The bed was made less than 45 minutes after the UPS left my house.This includes cleaning the old frame and of the box spring beds.I managed to collect all the stuff that was crammed with the old bed on about half of the space.Another feature I didn't even think of is that it helps my husband who is a lot snores loudly. Just raise your head and enjoy the silence. I prefer a minimalist bed. This is exactly what I was looking for. I like to watch TV with my head and legs down. I wish I had did that many years ago. And who cares about the noise, it's almost silent. To be honest I was expecting a growling sound. Like hospital beds, but I think technology and engineering have come a long way since I was in the hospital.
