This is my third pair of Egyptian cotton sheets. I bought this pair plus Egyptian cotton sheets from the "Chateau Home Collection" to replace my pair I have had for over 3 years. The reason for buying two pairs of sheets is that when you wash one, you immediately throw the other over. CHECK NOW: First off, let me say that these sheets are not what you would expect from high quality Egyptian cotton sheets. Rather than appearing silky and smooth, they have a very rough feel compared to other Egyptian cotton brands I own. You are very thin. I'm talking about the fact that you can see through them even if you don't put them in the light. My other two pairs are definitely thicker but still feel cooler and when stacked in them. I'm concerned how long they will last. Finally, they came out of the packaging with a very strong chemical smell. So much so that even after a single wash, the smell still lingers a bit. If you are familiar with Egyptian cotton or this is your first pair, be aware that this is not Egyptian cotton quality! I highly recommend buying Chateau Home Collection 800 thread count Egyptian cotton sheets. They are thicker, more stretchy on the bottom, softer and cooler. As a bonus, they're about $15 cheaper.
