Good product. Works as it should.

nobody has let me down. Tripp Lite is one of those brands that you can rely on. We use many of their products at my work and some of the devices are almost my age and still work great.

The splitter resolution needs to be changed to work in some settings

I was disappointed with it at first. When I plugged it in, the monitor defaulted to the native resolution it recognized from the splitter. 1080 interlaced at 30Hz. The screen was a little blurry. Not sharp. After 2 weeks of trial and error I found that I had to go to the NVIDIA video card setup and set the resolution to 1080p@59Hz rather than the native resolution for the signal to be recognized. Now the monitor is crystal clear on both outputs. I am very happy with the device. I've read that…

I tried a cheaper VGA splitter and it worked.

I tried a cheaper VGA splitter and the picture got blurry. This worked great. I send a single image to a projector via a 100ft VGA cable with no problem. I bought a TFT monitor with a VGA input for the second screen. Basically just so I can see what's going to the projector. On the TFT monitor I can see what is being sent to the projector without having to turn on the projector. This saves lamp life and gives me a monitor when I freeze or dim the image on the projector. I love this VGA…

Good for special purposes

I have two monitors in my office. When I need to review an order with my sales team or there is an issue with ERP accounting, I usually rotate one of the monitors so multiple people can share the screen with me. Other times I might need to discuss something with 5 or 6 other people and going to the conference room to use the projector would be too much. In these cases, I use this device to expand my setup to three monitors by sharing the main screen with an additional monitor that I mount on my

Great when it works. It's annoying when it doesn't.

I bought two of these and they both had the same problem. It's amazing and perfect for its purpose when it works. The problem is that after using this device for a long time, the product cannot wake up the monitor from sleep mode. The first time I thought the product might be defective, but the second was the same. The manufacturer was able to determine that it was a defective cable or monitor. I don't see what the problem is with the cable or the monitor if they work properly with the splitter

It splits the signal but there is a little problem

I've had the splitter for about 2 weeks now. It works well - allows you to view the same thing on two different monitors. It seems to work with any type of DVI cable as I use both types. I think it's excellent value for money. There is a small problem - the monitors do not wake up automatically. My situation is that I have two monitors with an extension to the second monitor. I then connect this splitter to a second (non-primary) monitor, giving me a total of 3 monitors. Primary and secondary…

Beat the splitter by more than double its price

We've been having a serious splitting problem in a setup we're building for several months. Our setup features two dual-display systems (4 monitors total) - a pair of standard Viewsonic 24" LCDs and another pair of proprietary OLED microdisplays designed to mirror the 24" LCDs. At first we used cheap, unpowered splitters that made a lot of noise. We then tried active splitters like the Gefen 142DL. This improved our noise somewhat, but still added artifacts (even after adjustment). Take Tripp…

Pros
  • handy item
Cons
  • so far so good

This device successfully splits the DVI signal between two monitors, but has the problem that it does not always send a wake-up signal to downstream monitors. About 85% of the time I turned the system on, the monitors that received a split signal didn't wake up. I could make it wake up by unplugging the dark monitors DVI cables from the Tripp Lite box and plugging them back in, or I could force the screen resolution to change a couple of times and that would normally wake the monitors up. But…

Does exactly what it says: shows a PC image on multiple monitors

I needed to mirror a PC image on three LCD monitors and one LCD projector for testing. Initial research into how to do this suggests there is significant misinformation. I've seen many people suggest that this is only possible with a couple of graphics cards. B.S. This device did exactly what it promised. It took the DVI output from my computer's graphics card and divided it by 4. It also boosts the signal, which was important because I used two 35ft DVI cables to connect monitors to the…
