Comparison of PD1560 - but still great!

I used to have a PD1560 until a few days ago I broke it and decided to buy a newer model. Please note that this is my first impression. I've been working on it for a couple of hours and that's all I can say --------------------- The PD1561, like the 1560, has a decent sized screen that can be pretty damn bright become if you want it. The display itself is fairly sharp and has a pre-applied anti-glare coating that gives a paper-like feel to drawing, which is very neat. If you're used to painting on a smooth glass surface (like the PF1560), the coating will feel a bit odd for a while. The display shows shades well; However, like any tablet with a screen, you'll need to make some adjustments to the display panel to get the colors and sharpness you want, which can be a real headache. Peru does not need to be charged, which is very convenient. Super cute as I've had situations where I was looking forward to drawing something only to sit down and realize my pen is dead. Unfortunately, the 1561's non-rechargeable stylus freezes if you get too close to the edge of the screen. So unless you're perfectly calibrated, using scrollbars on either side of the screen can be a problem (this wasn't a problem with older pens). The only other complaint I have about this product is its software. It's easy to install and get your tablet running, but for some reason the Goamon driver for 1561 doesn't give you the option to run it when you start your PC. I know it's a small thing to complain about, but the old driver opened up in the background when I turned on my computer, meaning I could just plug in my tablet and get to work. Here I have to keep the desktop icon. In any case, like the 1560, it's a great on-screen drawing tablet. The differences between the two are minor, and you'll only have trouble with those differences if you switch from one tablet to the other, as I did (except for the 1561 pen, of course). I would definitely recommend this product to any artist willing to ditch screenless graphics tablets. My 1560 has treated me well and I'm sure the 1561 will too. -------------------------------------- Goamon have FINALLY updated their software and it's not just fixed a Bug that prevented startup when the computer was on. But the new UI is very streamlined, making it easy to calibrate the screen or set up new button mappings! After a few months, the screen coating worked well, but if you look closely, you can see micro-scratches on the screen surface when on a white background. All in all a great tablet. Definitely worth the money.
