Review on πŸ§— XMSKY 12mm Static Rock Climbing Rope - Durable Outdoor Hiking Rope, 1/2 inch Diameter, 65 feet Length by Marco Wilson

Revainrating 3 out of 5

No climbing rope.

This 12mm climbing rope from XMSKY is advertised as a climbing rope but does not have a CE mark for two carabiners or a boxed rope. Carabiners are useful for hanging or storing rope, but are not suitable for climbing purposes. Typically, the minimum pull on a carabiner is 20 knots, which is approximately 4,500lbf, and this value is printed on the carabiner. These carabiners have nothing of the sort and are much smaller and thinner. Likewise, no maximum values are listed for the rope supplied, probably because it is not certified by the industry, and the rope is stated to result in adhesion. The only information available is in the Revain description, and it contains confusing statements and grammatical errors. If you're a rock climber, you already know this. But climbing is not a sport where you skimp on equipment. In comparison, most comparable climbing ropes of this length and thickness cost around $150-$200 and all meet industry safety specifications. Would I climb rocks with this rope? Absolutely not, because my life is worth more than $31. But I will use it for gear and general field purposes. It is more than sufficient for this and also inexpensive for this limited radius of action. The three-star rating is based on misleading claims and the lack of any industry-standard certification and ratings when it comes to climber product claims and stock images. not suitable for hanging on the side of El Capitan in Yosemite.
