Highly Vet Recommended

Wellness pet food is the highest quality pet food in my opinion and I am a longtime holistic vet using it on my own pet and other pets in the past. Wellness products contain no wheat, corn, soy, additives or preservatives. They are the ideal complete food for healthy pets, as well as animals requiring restricted diets due to any type of food intolerance, and are never potentially problematic ingredients. So did my beloved rescue dog, who as a puppy was on such a restricted healthy diet that if she ate anything else she would have vomiting and diarrhea for a week and required fluid therapy. As much as I hated it, she had to constantly take medication and probiotics for the first two years of her life before finally being healthy enough to stop. First she, a pup, was saved from these recurring bouts with Iams Prime Naturals and then Iams Sensitive Naturals, but when they were hard to find, after extensive research on nutrition and the options available I found Wellness, and that's just it with ever since keeps them healthy and happy. I loved the quality and quality of the ingredients so much that I switched all my pets, including cats, to wellness. Wellness also offers grain-free pet food, but grain-free pet food is a fad in my opinion and the opinion of most vets. with no real nutritional or biological basis, more than a human fad. Dogs and cats are not wild animals, nor are cats obligate carnivores, eating no food other than meat. There is simply no scientific basis for this unfortunate fad and I don't think these products are as balanced as the original formulations of high quality, premium all-in-one products like Wellness, which are tested and certified at every stage of development. and production for the health and well-being of the domestic animals fed with this food. Of course, cheap pet food containing corn and chicken by-products is always unhealthy, but easily digestible carbohydrates from healthy sources like barley and rice, and sometimes potatoes, are important for a balanced diet for our pets and for health. . . Digestion and absorption of all the good healthy nutrients found in quality foods such as wellness. I do want to mention one more thing - although there is a "small breed" version of this food and I have a 20 lb dog, I feed him regular sized pellets because the "small breed" pieces are so small that they are smaller than most cat foods. Large pieces require chewing, which is necessary for dental health. Very few dogs would be small enough to require food of this size. Personally I buy it as a treat for my dog because it's easy to use and he loves it and it's very hard to find treats that meet the strict quality standards needed to keep him healthy. It also features a treat ball that can be adjusted to a smaller opening for smaller pieces, and the "little rock" pellet fits perfectly in this toy for maximum fun. In summary, as a holistic veterinarian, I prefer wellness products even to branded products that are only sold by vets. I think the quality and standard of their ingredients cannot be compared to any other food. I will always feed this to my female dog (but regular food for her regular diet, not "small breed") for the rest of her life, as will any other pet I get. And it's good to have tiny bits of "small breed" that she can use for treats and her toys. Holistic nutrition, when it results in high-quality, healthy food, couldn't be better. Can't recommend enough!
