🥄 ALS-6 Contoured Aluminum Capacity by Adcraft Review

Should have read about the product and all the reviews that said the scoop is not dishwasher safe. But I didn't, and now it's not nice and shiny anymore. I still give the product 4 stars because it was my fault that the shovel is now an ugly dull grey. Seems well done. Not sure I would use it with food as it appears to be covered in something that will tarnish badly in the dishwasher. But for the price, and for use with anything other than food, it really does serve a purpose.

I have to return it just not sure if it's worth the energy. This is absolute rubbish. We washed it and put it in the freezer instead of an ice scoop, ice sticks to it no matter what we do. I don't dare wash it in the dishwasher (see all the other reviews, it tarnishes and ruins dishes, hands etc) and it looked so cheap/scratched I wouldn't use it for anything other than dogs. Food. What a waste of a packaging box. Spend a few bucks more and go to Crate and Barrel and buy what you really like.

When this arrived about a month ago I was very pleased and thought it was just what I was looking for. However, I cleaned the ice basket last night and decided to toss the scoop in the dishwasher (top shelf). What mistake! All my glasses have a gray cast and the cap itself is now a motley slate gray. Bought this to keep in the freezer of our idle ice maker as we now bring ice packs. My first mistake was trying to pick it up. The pen froze to my fingers. (Perhaps this should have been foreseen.) Now we have a handle wrapped in duct tape so you can actually pick it up. The second issue is that the handle length is almost comical. It's too short! It looks longer in the photo. I bought this scoop for scooping up dog food from a large container and it did the job with no problems. That being said, I just washed it with soap and water before use and didn't attempt to wash it in the dishwasher, so I had no issues with the materials or plating rinsing off. Washing with soap and water caused no problems. It seems high quality and durable, good size and comfortable grip for my needs. My only "complaint" has to do with the name of the item. Although advertised as 6" long, these shovels are 8 3/4" long. (What REALLY measures 6 inches is just the length of the bowl.) If, like us, you want to keep one of these in each of your dry food cans, the cans need to be taller than the overall length of the bowl. (If we thought they were longer than 6 inches, we would buy the smaller capacity shovels instead! The seller should make it clear on their listing what 6 inches means.)
