They were nice and soft right out of the box and after the first wash (with fabric softener) they look amazing. Yes, they are very thin and you can see through them if you hold them up to the light, but that is the case with most microfiber towels and they still feel pretty strong when stretched. You wear them on your bed over a mattress pad, not on your body, so it doesn't matter if you can see through them. The elasticity of the sheet is good. The shape of the pillowcases could be better, but that is also the case with most microfiber towels. They're cheap to buy because they're cheap to make! Don't expect to get 500+ thread count Egyptian Pima cotton at this price point. These are basic essentials with a little more of the allure of bamboo. Happy with product and price.
