Review on Darn Tough Merino Wool Boot Sock Full Cushion - Unparalleled Comfort and Durability for Your Boots by Mood Neboet

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Warranty void

I have bought these socks twice and they have lasted 1 year and 4 months each. I'm strict with socks. I'm happy with them and I like them. You feel good. Now for the guarantee. Well, it's "no question" but it's not perfect. For a $25 pair of socks, the warranty cost me $11, $5 for mail order socks, and $6 for a mailed replacement. They give you a code to use on their website for a free pair, which costs $6 to ship. And, of course, delivery to them is also paid for (5 dollars). That means my first pair of socks really cost $36 for 2 pairs (original and spare) or $17 each. Compare that to 6 packs of cheap $30 socks ($5 each) that lasted 3 months and didn't feel as good. Also compare it to the SmartWool which costs $20 a pair and isn't as good with a slightly less good warranty (which I never redeemed). I'm sure I'll be buying more of these, but my enthusiasm is muted. I will wait to return multiple pairs at a time and will try to keep the shipping cost low for each pair.
