Good middle ground between flat and fluffy

It's taken me a while to narrow my search for a "summer" comforter. I live in Florida and sleep too, so I winced when my wife decided she needed a blanket. Little did I know, after getting used to the big, fluffy duvet, that this option was available even for the less insulated version. Once I figured that out, I narrowed my search and finally settled on Maple Down. Literally every brand/variation I looked at had reviews saying it was perfect for warm weather, followed by opposite reviews saying it was too hot. I have taken a leap of faith from Maple Down and have never been disappointed. In fact, I threw off this blanket much less frequently during the night than our last ordinary blanket. It's a good weight too, and while it's not a weighted blanket, it definitely offers a similar (reduced) effect. Our only regret is that we chose the King over the California King as the King does not hang on either side of our bed as usual (this is not the MD's fault, the size matches the description). I suggest buying one size up if you want the comforter to cover the sheets when the bed is made.
